What is Being Human With AI?

Being Human With AI is a two-week hybrid curriculum for students in grades 5-6. It combines teacher-led discussions with interactive web-based activities to teach:
  • What AI is and how it works.
  • The ethical responsibilities of creators, users, and AI itself.
  • How to set healthy emotional boundaries with AI.

Why Now?

AI adoption is accelerating, even among children. Our curriculum addresses the urgent need to teach young learners how to engage with AI responsibly and thoughtfully.

A survey found that 67% of UK secondary school students use AI for homework and assignments, indicating a growing trend among younger learners.

25% of U.S. public K–12 teachers believe that AI tools do more harm than good in education, while only 6% feel they do more good than harm.

In the 2023–2024 school year, 50% of educators reported an increase in AI usage by both students and teachers.

Building AI Ethics With Experience

With over 20 years in learning and development, I’ve designed training programs for Fortune 500 companies and global sales teams, turning complex ideas into engaging, effective tools.

That experience drives BHWAI, a free generative AI class I built to teach kids 9+ how to use generative AI ethically. Spotting a gap in preparing kids for AI’s wild rise—including ChatGPT risks—I created BHWAI with fun comics and games, empowering them to co-create responsibly.

Seeing a gap in how we prepare the next generation for an AI-driven world, I built BHWAI with fun, interactive elements like comics and games, blending my passion for education with a mission to empower kids to shape technology responsibly.
